Paam Laafi Database System

High Quality Medical Care also means keeping track of the patient's information in a professional way.

About three years ago we started building our own patient data filing system using Microsoft Access. It is our aim to store information in an intuitive and useful way and at the same time provide a valuable, informative, hassle free tool for the physician to work with on a daily basis.

Together with a multinational team, our doctors have been providing insight and information on how to build this tool. The characteristics of the database and its interface are the following :

  • It is build around the International Code of Disease. In order to maintain a high quality care we need to follow international standards of writing information down. We minimize the amount of writing and provide extensive search as you type input facilities as to help the user to use officially recognized specific terminology.
  • All patient information needs to be accessible in a hassle free manner. All examination equipment of the hospital has a possibility of providing digital images and reports, thus allowing us to have a comprehensive and resourceful filing system for our patients.
  • Internet connectivity is crucial for research and telemedicine. Our system needs to be able to quickly find additional information useful to the health provides/user and must enable her/him to quickly connect with other experts through email and video and/or VOIP conferencing.
  • The system integrates the different services available at Paam Laafi.
  • Other useful software is linked and made accessible through the interface (e.g. Kabisa)

We are very thankful for the volunteers who have been helping us over the years to build this. You can read more about them here
